How Is Teeth Whitening Done?

An impression is taken to make a specialized “mouthguard” or “stent” to hold the whitening solution against the teeth. The material is used each daily from 30 minutes to just a few hours (depending on the type of product) for a week or two, and at the end of this time, significant whitening will occur. In some cases, the change is nothing short of brilliant. There are some cases where teeth whitening can take several weeks and at times, due to tetraycline stain, teeth may not be successfully whitened. These determinations will be made during assessment.
